This paper presents technical aspects and management issues of waste wood reuse and disposal. It includes the classification of the waste wood species and their available potential as found in Greece. As indicative test case at full scale, the results of the demonstrative co-combustion of waste wood and lignite, which was carried out at the moving stoker furnace of an industrial boiler are described. The experimental tests and the recorded data during the long-term waste wood and lignite co-combustion, proved the feasibility of this operating mode. There were no needs for technical modifications at the installation and no substantial emissions problems were recorded.
